Eagle, Idaho (Sunday, August 26) –Nicole Olson of Boise, Idaho, who held a six stroke lead after the first round, won the Women’s Amateur Public Links in a one-hole playoff.
First round leader Nicole Olson of Boise, Idaho lost her six stroke lead, carding 3-over par 74. It was Kareen Markle of Eagle, Idaho who made the strong run at the title. Markle carded an impressive 4-under par to force a playoff with Olson. Olson and Markle are familiar with each others play, as they are both members at Banbury GC. Markle finished birdie, par, eagle to force the playoff. The playoff didn’t last long, as Olson made a ten foot putt for birdie to win.
